Looking for ways to promote book on Confession
Word of Mouth. The best way to promote this book is by word of mouth - tell your spouse, tell your kids - tell your friends. What's the best way to do that?
So far some other things I have come up with are these.
So far some other things I have come up with are these.
- talk about it on my JoyNotes
- ask people who get a book to share about it with a friend
- send a free copy to bookstores
- send a free copy to newspapers and magazines that might write a review (know anyone personally?)
- promote it in Church bulletins (I will send a free copy to anyone who can do this and will send me a copy of the bulletin afterward.)
- promote it to RCIA groups - this is a perfect book for new Catholics (will send a free copy here to any RCIA leader who would be interested in reviewing it for possible endorsement for RCIA candidates and sponsors.)
Do you have any other ideas? I've been scrambling my brain to come up with some good ideas that I can put into action. I'm anxious to see what you might come up with.

Here's my idea, Sister Patricia. Send out a few review copies to some of the top Catholic bloggers like The Curt Jester, for example, and have them write a review and publish it on their blogs and link to your blog and website for ordering details or you might also have them put ads on their blogs.
There are also many Catholic Franciscan blogs out there, too, that would most likely be willing to voluntarily help with this.
Just a thought. Please let me know if I can help in any way.
God bless you,
Jean
I would be happy to link with your blog and website on my blog.
I think that is a very wonderful idea. Thank you so much.
Would you email me your mailing address so I send you a review book? My email is srpat at calledbyjoy.com . Used the "at" so spiders won't get new prey. :-)
Thank you for all the great suggestions so far. They are really good. I am writing them down and figuring out how I can implement them.
Rhonda that is really great about setting up two books for general use. I think once people see the book they will find lots of ways to use it in the classroom. Although the stories are geared more towards adults - I know even when I was in grade school I got lots of worth out of older reading material.
Chris I love your idea about the priests. I plan to send them to the priests in our diocese but I obviously can't afford to send them to all ....BUT maybe I can offer a special "Gift Book" discount for people who want to spread the word to their priests or others who are in a position to use this book in their ministry.
And that is so true about asking people to ask for the book in the stores. I have heard that does help quite a bit!
Radio is a good one.. I am definitely going to try and follow up with radio.
Not sure how to promote it at schools - think its a great idea.. just not sure how to do that.
Thank you Bonita for putting a review in your bulletin. I do appreciate that immensely!
Dear Sister Pat,
I recieved my copy of 101 in the mail and love it. My plan is to gift it to our parish church. I have another on order. I would be happy to write a personal review in our church bulletin and promote the book for you. All the suggestions to date are also super and will work to spred the word. Thanks for maintaining your website and blogs. I use them as a centering focus each day!! Peace from Woodstock.
Hi, Sister Patricia :)
I am the editor of Our Lady of Peace Rosary Guild newsletter and I am working on the September-October issue. If you could send a few copies, I would be happy to promote it, because we are always urging all our Rosary-makers, advertisers and benefactors to go to Confession. And telling people about the marvellous graces you get from more frequent Confession, too.

Hi, Sister Patricia :)
My husband & I are owners of JMJ Gifts (Catholic Gift Shop) in Pakenham, Ontario, Canada; also we just made our Franciscan profession on June 14th, 2006.
We have already ordered a few copies of the Confession book to sell in the shop and hope to promote it in Canada. We can write a review and publish on our blog, plus ask our St.Francis of Assisi Fraternity to publish on their blog, too.
We are constantly asking our angels: Clarence, Shealtiel, Michael and Aprel for their help in everything, especially getting customers for our shop, etc., and we pray St. Padre Pio's prayer to the angels daily. "We greet you___and we honour you. Please pray for us and pray in our places during those times when we find it so difficult to pray. Deign also in the Divine Light to meet with the guardian angels of those whom we love the most, and all those with whom we are spiritually connected, to enlighten them, to protect them and to guide them. Amen."

Hi Sister Pat, The book arrived this week and I love it. I had planned to give it to our pastor to add to the reading library our parish has.
I would be happy to write a blurb for our bulletin, unless you have a prepared statement written up.
I love you web site. It has brought much peace to my heart over the past year.

Sr. Pat, I have an idea that unfortunately might require a little more work on your part, but the rewards might be higher, too.
Blogging is a very strong vehicle for creating networks of people with similar ideas (and it's so good you've started one!). I'm sure you know there are other Catholic bloggers around, some with very large readerships (and some, like mine, with very small readerships). The network is created both by writing in yours, and by commenting in others, visiting and contributing as you can. Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) people reading your comments there will come here to see what you've written and read about your book.
Then it's destined for it's position on the NYT Best Seller's List.
